Man Charged in Selling Drugs to Boogaard

OVERDOSED

The hockey player died in 2011.

Rangers player Derek Boogaard died in 2011 of an accidental overdose of painkillers and alcohol, and the man charged with selling him the pills was indicted by federal prosecutors on Tuesday. It alleges that Jordan Hart, a former minor league hockey player, obtained 3,000 prescription pills from a medical staffer, Oscar Johnson, of the Utah Grizzlies, and then sold some of the drugs to Boogaard. Hart is charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute Oxycodone, and Johnson is charged with 26 counts.
