A 24-year-old man died after attempting to prevent another man from jumping out of a University of Hawaii dorm window, Honolulu police said Monday. The man was reportedly talking a 19-year-old off the ledge of a 14th floor window early Sunday, when both men fell to the ground and were critically injured, authorities said. The two men were taken to the hospital, where the older man was pronounced dead and the younger man remained in critical condition on Monday. Both men were not University of Hawaii students, according to school spokesman Dan Meisenzahl said.
