The 59-year-old Modesto, California, man who was attacked by a pack of pit bulls on Tuesday night has died as a result of his injuries, local authorities announced Wednesday. His 77-year-old mother, who was also attacked, remains in the hospital with critical injuries. They have not been identified pending family notification.
