A Detroit man has been accused of stealing his father’s body from the cemetery only hours before it was to be buried. Officers arrested 48-year-old Vincent Bright after finding an empty coffin in his car. Described as a very religious man by Detroit police, the son was allegedly storing his father’s body in the freezer with the hopes that a “miraculous resurrection” would bring him back to life. “It’s an unusual case, it’s not something you see every day,” said Bright’s court-appointed lawyer. 93-year-old Clarence Street’s body went missing Monday morning. Vincent is being held on $75,000 bond; his crime is punishable by up to ten years in prison.
