Damian Pachter, the journalist who first broke the news of the slain Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, has left the country as he fears his life is in danger. Pachter, who writes for the English-language Buenos Aires Herald, is planning to take refuge in Israel. “I left because my life was in danger. My phones were being monitored. I intend to return to Argentina when my sources tell me conditions have changed. I don’t think that will happen in the term of this government,” he said to a local news website. Meanwhile, the colleague of Nisman who gave him a handgun at his request, Diego Lagomarsino, has been barred from leaving Argentina.
