Man Who Shot Firefighters Gets No Charge

A man who shot two Prince George County Maryland firefighters was released from police custody, facing no charges. On Friday evening, the man's brother called 911 when he was unable to reach him leading firefighter-paramedic John Ulmschneider and another colleague to attempt to enter the house when he did not respond. The man woke up and opened fire thinking the firefighters were intruders. Ulmschneider died from the shooting.
