Amid the flowers and get-well notes left outside Nelson Mandela’s Johannesburg home on Monday was a non-payment notice, warning the former South African president that his electricity could soon be shut off if he doesn't pay the city $660. Did the 95-year-old anti-apartheid leader seriously forget to pay his electricity bill during the past two months he's spent in the hospital suffering from a lung infection?! Please. Nelson Mandela pays his bills, even in critical condition. The notice was meant for another house, and it was actually just one of several recent incidences of the city misplacing bills. Embarrassed, the City of Johannesburg apologized profusely in a public statement.
