French far-right leader Marine Le Pen was charged Friday with allegedly misusing European Parliament funds, the AP reported. The National Front party leader, who lost the 2017 election to President Emmanuel Macron, is accused of using parliamentary funds to pay two of her legislative aides while they were working at her party’s headquarters rather than assisting her in Strasbourg, the seat of the European Parliament. Le Pen denies the charges and will demand they be annulled.
