Marion Barry was involved in a traffic accident Saturday night in Washington D.C. because he was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road. To add insult to injury, law enforcement have charged the former crack-smoking mayor and current councilman not only with driving in the wrong direction but for having expired license plates. His spokeswoman blamed his erratic driving on his diabetes, saying Barry “became disoriented” when he suffered low blood sugar. Barry confirmed this over Twitter, saying he was involved in a “minor fender bender” during a “hypoglycemic attack.” Barry did not suffer any injuries, but a passenger in his car reportedly suffered minor ones. The passengers in the other car involved in the collision were uninjured.
