Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer will resign from the company's board of directors following the company's purchase by Verizon, SEC filings show. Mayer became CEO in 2012, becoming one of the tech world's youngest female CEOs. But her tenure was marked by the company's steady decline, as users abandoned the website for other platforms. In July 2016, Verizon announced it would purchase Yahoo for $4.8 billion. SEC filings reveal that Yahoo will be split into multiple parts under Verizon, and its remaining elements renamed to "Altaba, Inc."
