Ridley Scott’s space epic The Martian won again at U.S. box offices, with $37 million in its second weekend while the big-budget Pan tanked with a $15.5 million opening. Pan, which cost Warner Bros. $150 million to make, was even beat by Sony’s Hotel Translyvania 2, which brought in $20.3 million in its third outing, for a North American total of $116.8 million. The Martian, starring Matt Damon, also soared overseas, with a total of $58.1 million from 74 markets for an early foreign total of $119 million and global total of $227.7 million.
