Mary Lambert remembers when she first got the call from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. They wanted her to perform on their gay rights anthem, “Same Love.”
“It was missing this little bit of soul in the connection,” Lambert admits about the song, explaining that despite having only three hours to prepare her now famous refrain that it felt like “my life has been training for this moment.”
