The Massachusetts Senate approved a bill on Thursday that protects transgender rights in the state and it will now go to the House of Representatives for another vote. The measure would make Massachusetts the 18th state in the country to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity, while other states impose harse restrictions on bathroom usage.
