Massive Coal Spill in N. Carolina

Tons of coal ash enter river.

As much as 82,000 tons of coal ash and 27 million gallons of water have spilled into a river north of Greensboro, North Carolina. Duke Energy said late Monday a stormwater pipe broke, casuing a holding pond of waste to drain into the Dan River. So far, municipalities have reported no problems with its water.
