Outgoing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe reportedly learned of the new batch of emails found on Anthony Weiner's laptop at least a month before then-Director James Comey informed Congress in an infamous letter 11 days before the 2016 election. The emails were thought to be related to the agency’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. The Justice Department’s inspector general is investigating the circumstances surrounding the delay, The Wall Street Journal reported. The newspaper obtained text messages between two FBI officials, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, including one in which Strzok said on Sept. 28 that he “got called up to [McCabe’s] earlier.”
