This is beginning to resemble Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner: Senator John McCain attempted to spear President Barack Obama yesterday and Obama once again charmed his way out of it. After Obama took a question from McCain at his summit on fiscal responsibility, McCain expressed misgivings over the size of the Pentagon budget and said "your helicopter is now going to cost as much as Air Force One. I don't think that there's any more graphic demonstration of how good ideas have—have cost taxpayers an enormous amount of money." Obama countered that he had already instructed Defense Secretary Robert Gates to review the helicopters, and laughed "the helicopter I have now seems perfectly adequate to me. Of course, I've never had a helicopter before. So, you know, maybe—maybe I've been deprived and I didn't know it.”
