The youngest daughter of the late Sen. John McCain spoke out Thursday on Twitter against President Trump’s recent attacks against her father and called for him to be “mindful” about his remarks. “Everyone doesn’t have to agree with my dad or like him, but I do ask you to be decent and respectful,” Bridget McCain wrote. “If you can’t do those two things, be mindful. We only said goodbye to him almost 7 months ago.” The View host Meghan McCain commended her sister’s statement on the show but said she did not “expect decency and compassion from the Trump family,” according to The Washington Post. Trump took a jab at the late senator during a speech in Ohio on Wednesday, claiming that he gave him the funeral he wanted but “didn’t get a thank you.” He also told the crowd that he wasn’t “a fan of John McCain.”
