During a Thursday night event, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Republican Party’s chances of maintaining control of the Senate are “very dicey,” signalling concern about the GOP’s midterm-election chances if Donald Trump wins the presidential election. McConnell reaffirmed his support for Trump, but said Senate Republicans would need to be “on defense” even if Trump wins, adding that he hopes the real-estate mogul “settles down and follows the script.”
