Former Democratic senator George McGovern was taken to a South Dakota hospital after falling Friday night at a nearby university. McGovern is in "guarded condition ... not in critical condition, but his injuries bear watching," according to a hospital worker. McGovern was set to film a C-Span series at the his alma mater, Dakota Wesleyan, about his failed election bid against Richard Nixon.
