The University of Texas’s famed Harry Ransom Center has acquired the archives of the McSweeney's publishing company. Founded in 1998 by Dave Eggers, McSweeney’s initially published only works rejected by other publishers in the quarterly literary journal Timothy McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern. Since then, McSweeney’s has become both a successful independent book publisher and staple of the internet with McSweeney's Internet Tendency. Its archives, which include correspondences with writers such as David Foster Wallace, Zadie Smith, and Michael Chabon, will be stored in the same facility that currently houses a Gutenberg Bible, three copies of the First Folio, and the oldest surviving photograph.
