The transformation was significant compared with Franzese’s best-known role as Damien Leigh in the Tina Fey-written 2004 hit teen comedy, Mean Girls.
In the star-studded film, Franzese played an outcast high schooler who spent his time with Janice Ian, portrayed by Lizzy Caplan. Together with the school’s new girl, Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, they plotted a scheme to take down the school’s popular girl, Regina George, portrayed by Rachel McAdams.

Franzese has spent the last few years touring as a stand-up comedian. But even with his impressive wellness journey, he doesn’t always make the right call.
During one of his August sets at LA’s The Comedy Store, he abruptly exited the stage.
“Turns out doing stand-up on 30 minutes of sleep with no food or water is not the wellness journey I thought it was,” He told the Daily Mail.
Adding, “Sometimes you get so busy working and taking care of everything and everybody that you forget your own body needs taking care of too.”

Franzese keeps his fans updated on his career and wellness journey on social media.
In an August Instagram post, he wrote that he “felt good” about his fitness process, and said he was “Doing a lot of kettlebell stuff and enjoying it.”
Still, Franzese said he wasn’t done with his transformation yet, writing, “Still got work to do.”
