A Medieval knight reenactor died Saturday while performing in an equestrian game in Kentucky. Peter Barclay, 53, was apparently trying to spear a paper plate when his lance hit the ground, flipped, and stabbed him in the chest, according to John Fulton, the man’s brother and the president of Society for Creative Anachronism, which was hosting the event. Barclay, who performed under the name “Master Terafan Greydragon,” died while being flown to a hospital. An autopsy has not yet been performed, but the death is listed as accidental. The SCA says it is investigating how to prevent similar accidents.
