A Twitter user who posted a photo of Meghan McCain that appeared to threaten to shoot her as she cried over her late senator father’s casket appears to have been suspended from the platform. The doctored images, posted Thursday, showed hands holding a semi-automatic handgun pointed at McCain’s chest and was accompanied by a caption that said “America, this ones for you.” McCain’s husband, Federalist Publisher Ben Domenech, blasted Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for allowing the photo to stay up on his social-media site throughout the day, tweeting that the photo had been reported more than 100 times. He later wrote, presumably directed at Dorsey: “You should prepare an answer for the people pissed off at you. A hint: the entire committee.” Twitter’s rules ban “specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm” and “targeted harassment.” As of Friday morning, the account of the Twitter user who posted the image appeared to be suspended.
