Megyn Kelly to Return to TV This Fall, One Year After Blackface Storm
GUESS WHO’S BACK
Megyn Kelly is mulling a return to TV in the fall, in time to cover the 2020 election battle, according to Page Six. Kelly, who was axed as host of NBC’s 9 a.m. hour in October after poor ratings and comments about blackface, is “emotionally scarred” by her ousting from NBC, a source said, and is spending her time hanging out with her three kids and learning to cook. Although Kelly allegedly “doesn’t want to rush into something just for the sake of it,” Page Six’s source says she is open to a new gig, “She needs something good emotionally, intellectually—something that’s good for the whole family,” the person said. Whatever she does, it is likely to involve a pay cut; Kelly was given a $69 million package over three years at NBC, and received the whole lot, despite being fired after little over a year into the contract, after she said of blackface, “When I was a kid, that was OK as long as you were dressing up as like a character,” and defended Luann de Lesseps’s use of blackface to portray Diana Ross.
