Melania Trump plans to make a rare public appearance later this month, Politico reported Thursday night. The reclusive former first lady will host a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans on April 20 at her husband’s Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, according to an invitation obtained by the publication. The group, which bills itself as “the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives,” has long maintained close ties to the former president’s wife. Melania Trump even received an award at a gala it hosted at Mar-a-Lago in 2021, according to Politico. The April 20 event will reportedly serve as the launch of Log Cabin Republicans’ swing state get-out-the-vote program, “Road to Victory.” Just last month, Melania refused to commit to regular campaign appearances when asked by a reporter, replying simply, “stay tuned” when asked whether she would hit the trail in support of her beleaguered husband, who is running for president while juggling four separate criminal cases.
