Residents of Kentucky along the Mississippi River were allowed to return home on Saturday, as officials say they have seen the worst of the flooding. However, Memphis is not expected to see the river peak until mid-week. Record river levels are expected to be broken along the river. In Memphis, the river is expected to reach 48 feet on Wednesday; the previous record is 48.7 feet, which was set in 1937. The river is currently cresting at 45.9 feet and there is a chance of more rain on Saturday, though it is only expected to produce a half-inch of rain.
