Mexico Drug Violence Crosses Border

Conflict not limited to border towns.

The raging drug war in Mexico has bled over into the United States—and not just in border towns. Cities as far away as Atlanta, Anchorage, and Sioux Falls, S.D., have seen spikes in drug-related violence. The AP reports the Mexican cartels have established a presence in at least 230 US cities. The violence has not escalated to the out-of-control proportions in Mexican cities like Ciudad Juarez, but the cartels’ signature brutality has turned up in the States. In Alabama, five men were found with their throats slit. Even scarier: Before being murdered, they had been tortured with electric shocks.
