Murders are at a record high in Mexico, led by the state of Guanajuato, which recorded 3,120 homicides between January and September, according to a recent report. The death toll rose by 11 on Sunday with a massacre in a bar in the city of Jaral del Progreso, Reuters reported. Guanajuato is in the midst of a cartel war, with gunmen killing two dozen at a drug rehab in July.
