Michael Strahan to join ‘Live!’

He’s drafted. ABC has reportedly selected Michael Strahan to become the new co-host of Live! alongside Kelly Ripa. The announcement will be made in early September. Strahan is a former NFL player who also briefly starred on the Fox sitcom, Brothers. Strahan currently works on Fox NFL Sunday, and is also expected to maintain his role there even though it films in Los Angeles while Live! films in New York. Ripa has not had a permanent sidekick since Regis left the show in late 2011.
