Michelle Obama met with former South African President Nelson Mandela at his home on Tuesday as part of a weeklong visit to the continent. This is the second trip the first lady has made without her husband, and she told one greeter that the president was "pouty" about missing out on the visit. The Obamas first met Mandela and his wife back in 2006 (Mandela has a framed photo of their first meeting in his office). Accompanied by her mother, daughters Malia and Sasha, as well as her nephew and niece, Michelle is visiting the continent to continue reaching out to young people and focus on reducing the threat of AIDS, particularly in South Africa. She is scheduled to go to Botswana on Friday, where she will meet with other top leaders and continue her community service activities.
