Michelle Obama revealed what she’s thinking about on Jan. 20—and it’s not Donald Trump’s inauguration. The former first lady took to Instagram Monday to share a poignant message about how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “inspires” her, on the federally recognized holiday celebrating his contributions. Ignoring the inauguration proceedings entirely after snubbing Trump‘s big day without explanation, Obama wrote, “This #MLKDay, I hope you’ll join me and @WhenWeAllVote in honoring Dr. King’s life and legacy by getting involved in your community.” She encouraged her followers to “make a difference” and get involved in a “cause that matters to you.” Her husband, former President Barack Obama arrived at Trump’s inauguration alone Monday morning. Michelle even sparked a conversation with the post, telling commenters to “Tell me how you’re giving back today”—perhaps instead of taking in the inauguration. Among the top comments included one follower who wrote, “We ain’t watching that ish either queen!!”
