Authorities in Michigan have arrested four people accused of conspiring to abduct a child from a public place in order to rape and then kill the child. The suspects, identified as David Bailey, Jayme LaPointe, Matthew Toole, and Talia Furman, face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct, according to the Office of Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. Michigan State Police were reportedly in the midst of investigating the group for allegedly sexually abusing their own children when they discovered text messages about the alleged abduction plot. “They committed acts on their own children and were making sexually abusive material. They were all sharing and exploiting their own children and other children,” Det. Sgt. Gerald Yott of the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit told a press conference. Investigators are said to have uncovered plans by the group to snatch a child from a public place without cameras, with a county fair and a Walmart parking lot among the areas suggested. They then allegedly planned to torture and sexually assault the child until the child died.
