Michigan State University Athletic Director Mark Hollis has announced his resignation in the wake of Larry Nassar’s 175-year sentence for repeated sexual abuse of young female athletes. University President Lou Anna Simon stepped down earlier this week. Nassar worked for the university as a sports medicine doctor and served as the team doctor for USA Gymnastics’ team. “I’m not running away from anything. I’m running toward something. Comfort, compassion and understanding for the survivors in our community,” said Hollis, in a statement, noting that he will fully cooperate with all investigations going forward.
