Can a team of Microsoft, Yahoo, and AOL team up to take on Google and Facebook? That’s the hope, as the three companies announced a deal on Tuesday to begin selling each other’s unsold display ads early next year. Each company will maintain its own controls and they’ll still compete with each other for ad bucks. For this reason, the companies said they do not expect the Department of Justice to block the deal.
