America’s middle class is worse off financially now than it was the year before the Great Recession began, according to the Census Bureau. Real median income for middle-class families is now 6.5 percent less than than it was in 2007. The report also says median income for non-Hispanic whites has decreased 1.7 percent between 2013 and 2014. Real median income adjusted for inflation peaked in 1999 at $57,800.
