More than 18 inches of snow are forecast for the Midwest, with the blizzard beginning Monday afternoon in northeastern Iowa and southeastern Minnesota. The storm will then move Tuesday to Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The snow will be accompanied by powerful winds as high as 50 miles per hour. It will be the biggest storm in Chicago since 1999, when the city got 21.6 inches of snow.
