Barack Obama may just have transformed adolescence with his health-care reform law. Under the new plan, children will be allowed to stay on their parents’ health plan until 26 years old, potentially delaying the official start of adulthood by many years, The Washington Post reports. The lengthened period of dependency has become a normal part of life, one expert tells the paper. "No one resists or resents it. Young people expect it,” Brookings’ William Galston said. Officials in academia and leaders in the workplace all say constantly engaged parents maintain close ties with their children.
