Maine’s Republican Gov. Paul LePage—a miniature version of Donald Trump, as The Daily Beast has reported—canceled a swearing-in ceremony Friday for a newly elected senator in response to Democrats voting against one of his nominees. As it turned out, LePage nixed the event after he found out his nominee to the Maine Unemployment Insurance Commission was rejected.
