Filmmaker, fiction writer and mistress of all things precious, Miranda July can add another occupation to her resume: sculptress. The director and writer of Me and You and Everyone We Know had a new public art installation open in Union Square Park in New York City last week. “Eleven Heavy Things,” organized by Deitch Projects, features various sculptures that are heavy on audience interaction. Some pieces are “headdresses” into which audience members can fit, and another is a tablet through which audience members can stick their head.
