Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley said during a Tuesday press conference that he has “uncovered evidence of wrongdoing” while investigating Gov. Eric Greitens’ involvement with The Mission Continues charity. Hawley claimed that Greitens used the charity’s donor list “to solicit for campaign donations in his gubernatorial run,” which is a felony. Hawley said the investigation had been “ongoing for the better part of two months,” and said Greitens could have violated a “computer-tampering statute.” Hawley added that he has turned over all evidence to the House committee and said it would be “up to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office whether or not to press charges,” according to Fox 2. Greitens has since released a statement, saying the “allegations are ridiculous” and calling St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner a “liberal prosecutor funded by George Soros who allegedly suborned perjury, falsified documents, and withheld evidence.” This comes after a woman told lawmakers that Greitens coerced her into an aggressive, unwanted sexual encounter during their affair.
