Dad Arrested After Kid Tells Teacher He’s Got Loaded Glock in Backpack
BACK TO SCHOOL
A Missouri man was charged with first-degree child endangerment on Friday after his son discovered a loaded gun in his backpack at elementary school, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Tony Fisher’s son reportedly told his teacher at Hanna Woods Elementary school in Manchester, Missouri that he’d noticed his father’s gun sitting in his backpack on the bus ride to school. The weapon was a Glock semi-automatic pistol, which had one bullet in the chamber, and 12 additional bullets in the magazine. Fisher told police that he had been in possession of the gun the night before, and admitted to placing it in his son’s bag, although he gave no indication as to why. He said the gun had accidentally been left in his son’s bag, who then took it to school. Fisher was held on a $10,000 cash bond. Fisher could face up to 7 years in prison.
