A 29-year-old man in Kansas City has been charged with first-degree murder for the 2015 death of a transgender woman who witnesses say was repeatedly run over with a truck. Prosecutors say the man, Luis M. Sanchez, ran over the victim several times after she exited his vehicle. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Tamara Dominguez. The killing of Dominguez was the 17th murder of a transgender person in the U.S. in 2015. Sanchez was arrested on the charges Friday, and prosecutors have asked for bond to be set at $250,000.
