A man has been charged after a Missouri State University student told police she was raped hours after she attended #MeToo rally on Saturday. Zachary Alperin, 22, was charged Wednesday with second-degree rape and sodomy. He reportedly told police: “I guess I tried to force myself on her, and I feel like such a terrible person for it.” Prosecutors say the woman met up with Alperin for drinks following the rally. She told police she allowed him to sleep in her room, but told him not to touch her because she was drunk, then woke up in the middle of the night to find Alperin naked on top of her. The rape and sodomy charges carry possible seven-year prison sentences.
