Mitt’s keeping his cards close to the vest as Barack Obama moves forward with plan announced earlier this week to stop the deportation of some young illegal immigrants. On Sunday, Romney told CBS’s Face the Nation that if he were elected, Obama’s policy “would be overtaken by events ... by virtue of my putting in place a long-term solution.” Obama called his executive order a short-term measure himself in announcing the policy, arguing that more sweeping solutions were being held up by partisan gridlock in Congress. The presumptive Republican nominee said he doesn’t understand why the president “feels stop-gap measures are the right way to go.”
