Romney strikes back? After trailing Newt Gingrich in several Florida primary polls, Mitt Romney has suddenly surged. The New York Times projects that Romney has a 52 percent chance of winning, compared with Gingrich’s 48 percent. Insider Advantage, which had Gingrich leading by 8 percent on Sunday (after his strong debate performance and upset in South Carolina), now has “moderate Mitt” leading by 8. Romney’s spike in numbers may be attributed to his strong debate performance. Meanwhile, Gingrich pitched another “grandiose” idea by saying that by the end of his second term, the U.S. would have a permanent base on the moon. An idea that may appeal to Florida voters.
