Tonight’s Iowa caucuses proved to be the closest in history, as Mitt Romney was declared the winner, edging Rick Santorum by eight votes. While still tied with Santorum, Romney gave his congratulations to the other candidates and attacked Obama. Earlier addressing his audience, Santorum said that it was “Game on” and that he was “off to New Hampshire.” He did not, however, declare victory. Ron Paul came in third place with 21 percent of votes. Gingrich finished in fourth place with Perry (who is expected to drop his campaign) and Bachmann trailing behind, and Huntsman coming in dead last with a mere 1 percent of votes.
