For the first time in Major League Baseball history, expanded replay was used on Monday. Chicago Cubs manager Rick Renteria asked for the umpire to review when Jeff Samardzija was called out at first base. After a 2-minute wait, the call on the field was confirmed. In Milwaukee, an umpire's call was overturned for the first time when a Brewer was ruled out instead of safe.
