Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leader Pete Rose will not be joining the Hall of Fame any time soon, The New York Times reported Monday. According to sources close to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, the league will not lift its permanent ban on Rose, which was imposed in 1989 after allegations that he had actively gambled on professional baseball. Rose had recently met with Manfred to discuss reinstatement.
