The French: So innovative, so fresh. This week’s issue of French Elle might appear out of place on newsstands—because its cover models are entirely unretouched and without makeup. A few of the brave and beautiful souls to grace the cover and inside pages include Eva Herzigova, Inès de la Fressange, actresses Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau, Anne Parillaud, Karin Viard, Charlotte Rampling, and Chiara Mastroianni. Famed fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh shot the photographs. Might the interesting idea ever fly with American audiences?
