Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy Back Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Breakfast Club’ Dance
THE CONGRESSWOMAN ONE
The stars of the cult ’80s movie The Breakfast Club have thrown their support behind new Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after right-wing trolls resurfaced a video of her dancing like they did in the film in a misfiring attempt to humiliate her. The video has actually won her a multitude of fans since it went viral, including two stars from the movie—Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy. “That’s it, Alexandria you’re in the club!” tweeted Ringwald with love hearts. Sheedy tweeted simply “I love this,” along with the hashtag “TeamAOC.” The video was posted Wednesday by a Twitter account called “AnonymousQ1776,” which has since been deleted. The post said: “America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is.” The original video, posted on YouTube in September 2010, showed Ocasio-Cortez performing dance moves from The Breakfast Club to the song “Lisztomania” by Phoenix.
